Questions before you schedule?

  • What is Executive Functioning?
Executive functioning refers to those higher order thinking skills we usually associated with the pre-frontal cortex (that front part of your brain). It affects planning, organization, and decision making, as well as your ability to shift between activities, regulate your emotions, curb your impulses, retain information, and learn from your experiences. We rely on executive functioning for everything from getting ready in the morning to keeping our living space clean and remembering deadlines. Executive dysfunction is not willfulness or laziness. It is a key symptom of ADHD and many other diagnoses that fall under the umbrella of neurodivergence.
  • What does it mean to use a "neurodiverse framework" for academics?
Brains come in a delightful and unpredictable variety, which means so do approaches to learning. We tailor our delivery of academic material to each individual student to make sure that they are receiving information in the way best suited to their unique learning style.
  • My student doesn't have a diagnosis, will you still work with them?
Of course! Executive functioning coaching, while developed specifically with diagnoses such as ADHD and Autism in mind, is not reserved for people with official diagnoses. If you notice your student is struggling with executive functioning, or could simply use some support getting organized and staying on task, we're here to help. Schedule your free phone consult today!
  • Why can't I find your rates?
That's on purpose! We don't post specific rates because we want to able to talk through each student's needs before offering a quote tailored to you! That being said, most of our services fall between $120 and $160 per session, with some flexibility based on client finances and student need.
  • What age groups do you work with?
All of them! At the time of writing, our youngest student is 2 years old and our oldest student is 23. We do different work and set different goals, but whatever age you're at we're happy to see you!
  • Where are you located?
Samara sees clients in person at the office in Glover Park, located at 2168 Wisconsin Ave, NW Washington, DC. Rose offers in-home services to students throughout Northern VA and Maryland. Both coaches are also happy to offer virtual sessions to clients from all over the country!
